What are some things you can do during the Solstice?

To celebrate the summer solstice, here are five affordable and simple things you can do:

  • 1. Have a Bonfire: Gather some friends or family and organize a bonfire in your backyard or at a nearby beach (if permitted). Enjoy the warmth and glow of the fire while sharing stories, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying each other's company. It's a great way to embrace the longest day of the year.

  • 2. Sunrise or Sunset Yoga: Find a peaceful outdoor spot, such as a park or your backyard, and practice yoga during either the sunrise or sunset. Connect with nature, feel the energy of the solstice, and embrace the beauty of the changing sky. You can follow a yoga video or create your own routine.

  • 3. Picnic in Nature: Pack a simple and delicious picnic with your favorite snacks and treats. Head to a local park, forest, or a scenic spot near a lake or river. Set up a cozy blanket, relax, and enjoy the abundance of sunlight while appreciating the natural surroundings.

  • 4. DIY Solar Crafts: Tap into the energy of the sun by engaging in DIY solar craft projects. For example, you can make sun catchers using colorful beads or create solar-powered lanterns using mason jars and solar lights. These crafts are not only fun but also a great way to honor the sun's power on the solstice.

  • 5. Plant a Garden: The summer solstice marks the beginning of summer, making it a perfect time to start a garden. Choose some easy-to-grow plants or herbs, prepare a small patch in your backyard or use containers if you have limited space. Gardening can be a rewarding and therapeutic activity, allowing you to connect with nature and witness the growth throughout the season.

  • Remember, the most important aspect of celebrating the summer solstice is to embrace the warmth and light of the sun while enjoying the company of loved ones and nature.

These are not requirements, merely suggestions along your wild and wandering path.

Enjoy your time in the crooked ways, and may the abundance of the sun greet your front door!

Be well,
